As the race toward the end of open enrollment for health insurance continues, we’ve been hearing from entrepreneurs who are trying to avoid high costs and get better coverage by setting up insurance via a Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
This is probably not a great option for you if you’re an entrepreneur who qualifies for tax credits via healthcare.gov or your state exchange. (Around 70-80% of exchange purchasers qualified for subsidies in years past.)
But if you have a small business and are looking at non-exchange options, you may not qualify for tax credits, and you might want to consider this.
